Little Lions Launches The Owls — Advanced British Curriculum Year 1 Group!
Little Lions International Kindergarten is proud to announce the launch of The Owls, an Advanced School Preparation Year 1 Group designed for children ready to take their first steps into the British curriculum at Key Stage 1. This programme is ideal for families who want their children to move beyond kindergarten-level learning and begin working within a structured, internationally recognised system.
The group will be led by a fully certified native English teacher with strong experience in early years and primary education. Lessons follow the official UK Year 1 curriculum, focusing on English, mathematics, science, and reasoning. Through engaging activities and structured practice, children will develop confidence, discipline, and curiosity—essential qualities for future success.
How the Programme Works
Academic lessons take place each morning, when children are most focused and receptive. Pupils will cover the full Year 1 curriculum with targeted lessons in reading, writing, maths, science, and reasoning. Science is introduced through hands-on experiments, while reasoning activities encourage logical thinking and problem-solving.
Afternoons remain creative and active, with arts, sports, and play-based projects alongside the wider kindergarten community. This balance ensures that children enjoy strong academic progress while also staying socially engaged, active, and happy.

This advanced group combines academic rigour with creativity in a small, selective setting. The class size is capped at 10 children, all enrolled for the full academic year. Admission Requirements. Children must be 5 to 7 years old
They must demonstrate near-native or native-level English proficiency
Each child completes an entrance interview with our director, Frederic Cyr, plus short assessments in English, maths, and reasoning
