No. Although many of our pupils have a strong command of English, others are beginners. Our English-speaking educators are very aware of this and pay particular attention to them so that they feel comfortable and supported. We also have caretakers who are native Russian, Thai, German and French speakers, to attend to and help pupils who are beginners at English.
Our full-time pupils can be dropped off between 9:00 and 9:30am and be picked up at the latest at 17:00. That being said, Little Lions is sometimes open late, until 20:00. So pupils can stay longer for an extra fee and even use this opportunity for private lessons in English and other subjects. There are also group and individual activities organised between 17:00 and 20:00.
We accept children age 3-7. However, we reserve ourself the right not to accept younger pupils who we feel are not ready to attend kindergarten.
Breakfast is served at Little Lions at 9:45am. They will eat a warm lunch at around 12:15, made with natural local products, including fish and meat. There is another snack after napping at around 15:00. Kids who stay past 17:00 will need to have their own dinner food with them. Microwaves are available. Water dispensers are always there for pupils to drink.
Yes, Little Lions follows a strict daily napping schedule, from 13:00 to 15:00. Real beds are available for all kids. Those that don’t wish to sleep will use napping time for quiet play.
Little Lions keeps a detailed dossier for each child. There is an initial assessment when the pupils first enter, generally linguistic, reasoning and social abilities. Unfortunately, we are not qualified to diagnose deeper learning disabilities or psychologic issues. Pupils are then reassessed at the end of each semester. A detailed report is delivered to the parents. For English and maths, the assessment is based on the British curriculum at EYFS and Key Stage 1 levels.
Yes. Our director, Frederic Cyr, has over 10 years of experience preparing pupils for the most prestigious British, European and American International schools and universities. After a minimum of three years attending Little Lions, your child will have acquired the necessary near-native level of English and level of maths to enter top English-speaking schools anywhere in the world.
Play is a crucial aspect of language learning for children. Engaging in games, role-playing, and interactive activities with peers and adults helps them practice language in a fun and meaningful way. It also fosters communication and social skills. Little Lions is special in that we believe in hiring the best native-English speakers, to ensure proper pronunciation and learn to speak the way native speakers really do.
We currently have three groups at Little Lions and each is headed by an experienced native English teacher and seconded by either a Thai or Russian native speaker. All our non-native English teachers have a proficient level of English and experience teaching it.
